Parliament's recycling efforts branded a 'shambles' after it emerged plastic cups are being burnt

Expensive cups, plates, soup containers, food boxes and straws made with a 'compostable' plastic for the House of Commons, and costing it an extra £70,000 a year, are being incinerated.
