Volcano island in New Zealand had metal shipping container as a makeshift bunker from eruptions

The 2.4-tonne shipping container was airlifted to the island by the New Zealand Defence Force in 2016 and placed on an old mining site. It is understood the bunker was about 500m from the lake.
