One of the last surviving D-Day veterans has died aged 97 nearly 80 years after fighting in Normandy

One of the last surviving D-Day veterans, boy soldier Ray Lord, from Hull, has died aged 97. He cheated death aged 18 when a mortar bomb exploded and his radio took most of the blast, saving his life.
